The freaks were on full display Wednesday night at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre for the second stop of Korn and Evanescence 18 city summer co-headline tour.
The last time I saw Evanescence was back in 2018 when the band went on tour with an orchestra backing them. This time around its guitarists Troy McLawhorn and Tim McCord (formally on base), drummer Will Hunt, new bassist Emma Anzai of Sick Puppies, and of course Amy Lee on vocals and piano.
Korn opened the set with ‘Rotting in Vain’ and ‘A.D.I.D.A.S.’ behind a large semitransparent mesh LED screen that displayed various graphics before raising it for ‘Here to Stay’. The bands sixteen song set touched on eleven of the bands fourteen albums with the highlight of the night was with a throwback to Korn’s MTV Unplugged set with Amy Lee coming out to sing ‘Freak On A Leash’.
