Tuesday night fans braved the extreme heat to catch everyone’s favorite Celtic punk band.
Though this was to be a coheadliner tour with The Interrupters, they had to pull out of two shows due to two members having Covid.
By the time Flogging Molly took the stage the sun had just went down and the temperature went down slightly. As the band took stage front man Dave King came out with arms raised and holding a can of Guinness. The band kicked things off with one of my favorites ‘Drunken Lullabies’ off their 2002 album of the same name. The band followed that up with ‘The Hand of John L. Sullivan’. King told the crowd that before they came out he had looked at the temperature in Ireland (King’s home country) before taking the stage and it was 55°F to which he said was one of the only times he would flip off Ireland. He also suggested to make sure fans stayed hydrated and held up a can of Guinness. King also addressed that tonight was bittersweet as The Interrupters should have been here tonight but Covid reared its fucking head. The band closed the night down with ‘Salty Dog’.
