Sunday night Qveen Hurby brought The Alchemist Tour to The Pageant in St. Louis, MO. Once part of the music duo Karmin, Amy Renee Heidemann Noonan (Qveen Herby) started her solo career in 2017 and picked her stage name by combining “Qveen” a nickname given to her in college alongside “Herby” the mascot of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

The night started with a countdown clock projected on the back of the stage that stopped a little longer on 4:20. Soon after the countdown hit zero a coffin was wheeled out on stage shrouded with heavy smoke. Qveen Herby opened the coffin lid and stared the night with the 2020 single ‘The Show‘. After the second song ‘MARIE ANTOINETTE‘ Qveen Herby was flanked by two people that looked like bellhops and they pulled her white dress off her revealing her first costume change. The second came about halfway into the twenty-seven song set with the song ‘New Bitch‘. Throughout the night along with the music Qveen Herby told a story of her journey to becoming The Alchemist, getting a job/being fired from her job, getting a reading from a fortune teller, joining one of the houses in Herby House (her version of Hogwarts) with the houses being, Beetle, Tiger, Koi, and Hummingbird. You can take the sorting test HERE (I was sorted into Koi House). The night ended with a medley of ‘Frankenstein / Busta Rhymes / Juice‘ and ‘Sugar Daddy‘.

The highlights of the night for me was ‘Abracadabra‘, ‘Lavish‘, and her spitfire delivery of ‘5D‘.
