Thursday night Plain White T’s brought their nineteen city Fired Up tour to Delmar Hall. The pop-punk band form Lombard, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago) is on tour for their self titled ninth studio album. New Jersey based band Pollyanna has opened for the band for the whole tour.

Last year front man Tom Higgenson performed solo and opened for the local band Ludo on the last night of their three night HalLUDOween. He talked about the upcoming self titled new album and played a medley of songs off the album.

Around fifteen minutes before the band took stage a pre recorded message from Tom Higgenson came over the PA saying that if the crowd wanted to have some say in the setlist tonight they could head over to set.live and vote on a song to be included in tonights set. The song choices were ‘Friends Don’t Let Friends Dial’ Drunk’, ‘Natural Disaster’, and ‘Welcome To Mystery‘. Also one lucky person who voted would receive a signed copy of the setlist from the show. The band kicked things off with ‘Our Time Now’ off 2006’s ‘Every Second Counts‘ and new songs ‘Young Tonight‘ and ‘Fired Up‘. Before ‘Fired Up‘ Higgenson said that the band loves the song so much that they decided to name the tour after it. Just under half of the songs from 21 song set were off of the new album with at least one song from every studio album to date. The band played all their big hits like ‘1,2,3,4,’, ‘Our Time Now’, Hate (I Really Don’t Like You)’, ‘Hey There Delilah’ and ‘Rhythm of Love’. For ‘The Giving Tree‘ lead guitarist Tim Lopez took over vocal duties from Higgenson. For the last song of the main set Higgenson asked the crowd for a real mosh pit for ‘Hate (I Really Don’t Like You)’. The encore consisted of ‘Friends Don’t Let Friends Dial’ Drunk’ (the wining song from the crowd vote), and two crowd heavy sing along songs ‘Hey There Delilah‘ and ‘Rhythm of Love’.
