Thursday night English pop-rock band Tears For Fears brought their The Tipping Point Part 2 tour to Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre Maryland Heights, MO. The band who were associated with the new wave synthesizer bands of the 1980s released The Tipping Point last year, and is their first album since 2004’s Everybody Loves a Happy Ending.
The band came out to Stay playing in the background before kicking things off with ‘No Small Thing’ and ‘The Tipping Point’ off the new album. Behind the band was a large lighting rig of circles centered by a large screen that chowed different images and colors throughout each song. The first song that hit that nostalgia mark for the night was ‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World’. The band played a good mix of old and new songs during the eighteen song set with six off of their new album and a cover of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ before ending the night with ‘Shout’ that saw Orzabal holding out his microphone several times throughout the song as the fans sang every word.
Cold War Kids opened the night.
